About the Maker
“Do you work with your hands?” The first time someone has asked me that deeply resonated. I tilted my head and paused. I looked down at my hands, palms facing up, outstretched, and replied, “yeah. I do.” They did not know me and I did not know them. I was 20 years old. It was obvious to a stranger that I was a maker and it was then that I knew I would always be a maker.
Guachapele Pottery is a small, Greensboro based, one-woman operation, owned and operated by Melissa Micca. Melissa makes hand crafted ceramics, primarily food-focused functional wares, some for the home and garden. It is with the intention, to create wares that are simple, usable, and ultimately that bring people together.
